Description

This page depicts a scrap of the flyer from the "Cercle Français," a French-language speaking and social club at the University of Michigan. The Cercle Français was formed in the 1900s and had an annual tradition of performing classical French plays. On the flyer is the legendary Molière, also known as Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, a 17th-century playwright, actor, and poet who wrote on the comedies and tragedies of French society under Louis XIV.
